Patronage of the census and edition of the documents on 13th and 14th century Italy kept in the archives of Castel Sant’Angelo
The «Istituto Storico Italiano per il Medio Evo» (The Italian Historical Institute for the Middle Ages) is conducting a research on the Censimento ed edizione dei documenti relativi all’Italia dei secc. XIII e XIV conservati nell’Archivio di Castel Sant’Angelo presso l’Archivio Segreto Vaticano (Census and edition of the documents relevant to the 13th and 14th century Italy kept in the Archive of Castel S. Angelo at the Archivio Segreto Vaticano), using the funds allocated by the Ministry of University and Scientific Research of the Italian Republic.
The research includes the publication of the parchments belonging to the 13th century and the preparation of the summaries of the papers belonging to 14th century kept in the series of the Archivum Arcis.
The Archivio Segreto Vaticano participate in the initiative by providing the digitalization of all the parchments in their Photo-reproduction Laboratories, supporting the research as a whole and co-publishing the printed edition.
